The technology developed for KEF's high-end loudspeakers, including the latest generation of Uni-Q elements and their metamaterial technology (MAT) is now available in the new R series. The seven-model speaker series includes three floor models, one stand speaker, two center speakers and Dolby Atmos rear speakers, making it suitable for both home theater and hi-fi enthusiasts. The Atmos speaker is an excellent addition to the R Meta series home theater.
This compact speaker is the only 2-way speaker in the new R Meta series. It is also implemented with a Uni-Q element, where the bass/midrange and treble are placed centrally. Its angled faceplate is ideal for placing either on a wall or on top of a speaker for Dolby Atmos use.
The R8 Meta speakers use a revolutionary meta material that absorbs 99% of unwanted sounds behind the tweeter element. The material and maze-like structure eliminates the resulting distortion and produces a cleaner, more natural sound.
The speakers use the 12th generation Uni-Q element. The new element combined with the metamaterial produces a cleaner sound with less distortion and coloration, which is more transparent and truer than before.
