Monitor Audio Silver FX is a surround speaker for wall installations adapted to the sound of the main speakers of the series. The speaker's directional pattern can be selected between dipolar and bipolar directional pattern with the dip switch on the speaker. The speaker creates a wider sound image than traditional speaker models, and does not localize as a sound source as strongly as more traditional speaker models that mainly emit sound directly.
If you are looking for a surround speaker model that emits sound directly as a partner for the speakers of the Silver series, but the Silver 50 series is too large, then the Monitor Audio Radius 90 and 225 models are perfectly suitable as a partner for the main speakers of the Silver series. Both models can also be installed on the wall.
Finishing is not an afterthought
The most important feature of the speaker is of course its sound quality, but the visual factors are also important in the horizontal cup. The finish of the Silver series could easily belong to higher priced speakers. The front panel is elegantly designed without visible screw heads and the connectors on the back panel are decent pole screws that can accommodate speaker cables with a slightly larger cross-section. Several real wood veneers are available as finishes, as well as piano black and matte white options.
