The Monitor Audio Vestra W10 is the most compact subwoofer in the affordable but remarkably powerful Vestra range. A 10-inch long-throw woofer and a 250-watt high-efficiency Class D amplifier in a sealed enclosure provide controlled, tonal and credible bass reproduction. The typical frequency range in a room is 19 - 200 Hz (of course, you can limit the upper limit with a crossover filter). The Vestra W10 is an excellent choice both individually and in multiple pieces; using multiple subwoofers in a room produces more balanced bass reproduction over a wider area than just one.
Like the manufacturer's Anthra subwoofers, the crossover filter allows the Vestra models to be adapted to almost any main speaker in stereo systems, with the lowest possible crossover frequency being an exceptionally low 32 hertz. Although the Vestra has DSP at its core, adjustments are made with clear and simple knobs. There is a stepless adjustment for the crossover frequency and volume, and an easy 0/180 degree switch for the phase.
Monitor Audio has been developing C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium) driver technology for a long time. The result is a very lightweight cone that is extremely rigid and can withstand high pressure fluctuations in bass without causing resonances in the operating range.
