We said no to colored audio
Concept 30's most important acoustic innovations can be found in the design of the quietest possible case. Amazingly free of internal or external resonance, these speakers deliver a focused stereo image, accurate sound and a transparent sound field that mimics a live performance in your home.
All of our anti-resonance innovations allow the high-end elements to do their job to produce the most realistic and immersive sound in this price range.
Controlled power
Both the 5-inch mid/bass driver and the 1-inch tweeter are designed as an important part of the cabinet's mechanical structure. The elements are attached to a rigid 3 mm aluminum plate before installing the whole in the case. This provides proper acoustic sealing, dampens vibration and minimizes structural coupling.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the front plate, which means less distortion and a lower crossover frequency, to ensure seamless reproduction in the crossover area. The mid/bass driver's large 30.5mm voice coil improves motor power, resulting in 50% better power endurance compared to the 25.4mm voice coil typically used in similarly sized drivers.
Finally, the crossover is mounted on a separate isolated base, which keeps it free from vibrations that tax the sound quality and away from the electromagnetic effects of the elements.
Elegant design
The refined design lines and stunning high-gloss finish familiar from the 300 and 500 flagship models are repeated in this Concept 30 model with an aluminum front plate. The Concept 30 is available in three striking piano lacquer finishes: black, silver and white.
Gelcore™ technology
Introduced in the original Concept speaker, the Gelcore™ enclosure construction is designed to minimize high-frequency noise. The unique implementation consists of uncured gel inserted between two separate casing layers. This special combination transforms the high-frequency vibration generated by motion energy into heat, resulting in a calm and accurate sound reproduction.
Insulating suspension system
The Concept 30 uses a variation of the highly efficient underbody sprung isolation platform first seen on the Concept 300. The two plates are separated from each other by suspension parts, which effectively isolate the case from disturbances caused by external vibration. You can hear the effect especially as a more precise stereo image and an increased depth effect of the sound field.
P2P™ (Point to Point™) technology
To keep the case as stable as possible, the Concept 30 uses a P2P™ (Point to Point™) bracing solution. Introduced for the first time in the Concept 500, the amplification is installed in the interior areas of the cabinet that are exposed to low-frequency reverberations.
The P2P™ stiffening of the housing has been studied using the Finite Element Analysis tool and laser measurement, whereby the end result has been optimized down to the microscopic level.
With this cutting-edge technology, Q Acoustics has been able to identify and apply stiffening precisely at the most strategically important points in the enclosure that require additional support.
Bi-Wire connection
All Concept series models have a Bi-Wire connection for speaker cables. Two separate pairs of cables from the amplifier can thus be pulled into the speaker. Dual wiring minimizes the intermodulation distortion caused by the interaction between high and low frequencies, resulting in a clearer reproduction of the midrange.
