Q Acoustics Concept 90 Center
The center speaker, no matter how small or large a home theater system, plays an important role in conveying a realistic surround experience. In addition to supporting the left and right front speakers, the center channel anchors the dialogue and is a seamless part of the entire soundscape. The Concept 90 is an advanced center speaker that incorporates many of Q Acoustics' key anti-resonance technologies to produce accurate and captivating cinema sound. The Concept 90 center speaker complements Q Acoustics' Concept pedestal or floorstanding speakers for a stunning home theater system.
Consistent quality
In the home theater speaker system, the important sound synergy is ensured in the Concept 90, e.g. using the same tweeter hermetically sealed and separated from the case. The installation of the elements follows the same structure as in the Concept 30 and 50. An isolation base with two plates separated by suspension balls is also included to isolate the case from external resonances – this is a crucial detail especially when the speaker is placed directly on top of the TV stand. With good isolation, the midrange provides a more controlled sound and adds depth to your music and movies.
Controlled power
Both the 5-inch mid/bass driver and the 1-inch tweeter are designed as an important part of the cabinet's mechanical structure. The elements are attached to a rigid 3 mm aluminum plate before installing the whole in the case. This provides proper acoustic sealing, dampens vibration and minimizes structural coupling.
The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the front plate, which means less distortion and a lower crossover frequency, to ensure seamless reproduction in the crossover area. The mid/bass driver's large 30.5mm voice coil improves motor power, resulting in 50% better power endurance compared to the 25.4mm voice coil typically used in similarly sized drivers.
Finally, the crossover is mounted on a separate isolated base, which keeps it free from vibrations that tax the sound quality and away from the electromagnetic effects of the elements.
Elegant design
The refined design lines and stunning high-gloss finish familiar from the 300 and 500 flagship models are repeated in this Concept 90 model with an aluminum front plate. The Concept 90 center speaker is available in three striking piano lacquer finishes: black, silver and white.
Gelcore™ technology
Introduced in the original Concept speaker, the Gelcore™ enclosure construction is designed to minimize high-frequency noise. The unique implementation consists of uncured gel inserted between two separate casing layers. This special combination transforms the high-frequency vibration generated by motion energy into heat, resulting in a calm and accurate sound reproduction.
Bi-Wire connection
All Concept series models have a Bi-Wire connection for speaker cables. Two separate pairs of cables from the amplifier can thus be pulled into the speaker. Dual wiring minimizes the intermodulation distortion caused by the interaction between high and low frequencies, resulting in a clearer reproduction of the midrange.
