Simple in a beautiful way
Ruark Audio's collection rose to great fame with its R1 table radio. The latest update is the R1S version, which, in addition to Bluetooth reception, includes several modern innovations. The R1S is without a doubt the most desirable and complete tabletop radio available, even proudly dubbed the Aston Martin of tabletop radios.
At first glance, the latest R1 looks strikingly similar to its predecessors, but a closer look reveals its fine details and features. The updated RotoDial control button system placed on top of the case and the renewed full-color TFT front display together offer an easy-to-use and intuitive user experience. In the case design, an effort has been made to preserve the smooth lines and familiar individual design from previous versions. In addition, the renewed soft-varnished finishing surface and the front grille made of eco-wood professionally express that the bar has been raised to an even higher level in the R1S.
Previous R1 models received critical acclaim, but the R1S has raised the bar even further! In particular, the latest neodymium NS+ element, which is also used in the R3 and R5 models, offers a smooth and wide frequency response. The special cabinet tuning of the R1S produces impressive bass reproduction. The system's class A/B linear amplifier produces exceptional dynamics and the adaptive equalizer provides a clearly audible sound at all volume levels.
BackPack II
With a battery status display and improved power management, the R1S works even better and longer with the optional BackPack II, so you can enjoy the R1's rich sound even when mains power isn't available.
The BackPack II attaches seamlessly to the R1 and can be left permanently in place as it automatically charges whenever mains power is available. A full charge allows up to 12 hours of listening, depending on the volume.
Compact remote control
A separate compact remote control is available for the R1S. The remote control has four shortcut buttons that allow you to store and select your favorite radio channels easily.
