Description
Supra LoRad MD03/SP MK3 surge protected distribution socket
Supra distribution socket, which consists of three European Schuko plugs. The input connector is an international standard IEC-320 10 amp male body connector used in most devices with a detachable, grounded power cord. The box has a 10 A fuse, NIF filtering and 3-way overvoltage protection.
Note! Requires a separate power cord. Suitable cables are e.g. Supra 10 A LORAD cables.
Supra NIF filter
All Supra outlet models have Supra NIF (Non-Intrusive Filtering), an efficient high-frequency (RFI) transient filter. It is designed and configured to effectively suppress RFI interference, but not to impair the need for fast charging of the connected devices' power supplies. Supra NIF was developed by Ben Duncan Research in England.
All filters and protections require a mains socket with a grounding plug to operate. If your multimedia and hi-fi equipment conforms to a certain standard, they probably require a grounding connection themselves and use an IEC-320 power connector with a detachable power cable. If your device is like this and the outlet does not have a grounding connector, we recommend that you contact your landlord and/or an electrician to arrange for grounding. This undoubtedly improves both the sound quality and the operational safety of your equipment.
3-way overvoltage protection
All SP models are equipped with Supra "Surge Protect" protection, where every wire is protected. Many manufacturers only offer phase/0 protection, which is not sufficient in all cases. Supra's SP distribution sockets have phase/earth, 0/earth and phase/0 protections. This provides maximum protection against lightning or other power surges. Only disconnecting the devices offers the surest protection, but in the event of a thunderstorm, disconnecting the devices may not always be possible.
Note! All protections require a properly installed, grounded outlet to operate. If a grounded socket is not available, we recommend having one installed by an authorized electrician. DO NOT USE APPLIED, MODIFIED OR UNOFFICIAL GROUNDING MEANS.
Supra LoRad protected distribution sockets in an aluminum case
The aluminum frame of the Supra distribution socket is connected to ground potential, so that the magnetic field radiating into the environment and causing interference is as minimal as possible. The electrically conductive frame directs harmful interference fields directly to the ground, and prevents RFI and other interference from entering the circuit. To achieve full interference protection, we recommend connecting all devices and sockets with interference-protected power cables. Supra's LORAD cables are perfect for the purpose. If you haven't experienced a fully protected system before, you will definitely notice the difference!
