One of the most successful speaker series that has sold over a million pairs of speakers and is 25 years old.
The new 600 S2 Anniversary Edition collection has arrived.
Updated technology with patented Continuum™ drivers, redesigned double-sided edges and a cleaner, more modern look. The speaker's reflex port has been moved to the back of the cabinet. The more careful appearance has been made neater down to the last detail, the front cloth is attached with magnets and the tweeter appearance is finished with neater metal frames.
The 600 series speakers have been and are the first step into the world of budget speakers from Bowers & Wilkins, the world's leading speaker manufacturer.
The roots of the speaker manufacturer date back to 1995, when the factory released the first series of Kevlar-based speakers, which achieved an affordable & lifelong relationship with high-quality sound.
Patented Continuum™ technology
When the manufacturer introduced the 800D3 series in 2015, it was known at the time that this top-of-the-line element would eventually also end up in the manufacturer's more affordable speaker series. Since last year, this has already been in the 700 series speaker models and now in the 600 series. The Continuum™ cone is based on the same technology as Kevlar, but in terms of its properties, this represents the biggest leap in speaker development since the introduction of Kevlar. The braided material enables a much more open and neutral midrange than before.
The midrange driver is housed in a special suspension borrowed from the 800 series, which further improves midrange clarity.
The updated technology also includes improved tweeters
All new 600 Series models use improved, acoustically isolated double-layer tweeters than the previous 680 Series. The Carbon Dome™ tweeter is the same on all models and the magnets are borrowed from the more expensive 700 Series. The tweeter is mounted in an aluminum-braced enclosure, which allows for superb treble reproduction
Revised crossovers and bass
The woofers are the fine 700 series elements with the same body and magnet, although the cone material is based on paper, resulting in a lighter and sturdier cone that enables dynamic reproduction.
