Cambridge Audio developed the entire Edge system by listening carefully to each component and selecting only the ones that blew their minds. No parts were selected based on price or specifications. The Edge M is minimal in appearance, but inside there is a really complex sound design. To remove the barriers between you and your music, the design side has worked hard to minimize the number of components in the signal path. As a result, the Edge M produces a more faithful reproduction of the original recording, an impressively detailed three-dimensional sound, with amazing staging and precision.
Using normal Class A amplifier technology was not efficient enough for the Edge M. Instead, Cambridge Audio has added a bias voltage to the traditional AB class design, so there is no more distortion at levels that do not belong to them. This unique configuration also generates less heat and makes the whole system more efficient.
