Genelec 7380A
A very sturdy active DSP subwoofer from the SAM collection. The 7380 offers even greater resources, sound pressure, low-end reproduction and very versatile control of bass frequencies.
The new flagship of the acoustically adaptive SAM subwoofer line, the 7380 flexibly adapts seamlessly into any sound monitoring system, from stereo to multi-channel or extensive 3D immersive systems, and its performance is at a level normally thought to be achieved using much larger enclosures. A newly designed class D power amplifier and SAM technology combine in the 7380 subwoofer, which is created to exceed the demands of demanding professionals in music production, post-production, film and broadcast applications. The 7380 also seamlessly supports Genelec's "The Ones" series coaxial three-way monitors and is therefore suitable for applications by those working with immersive sound systems, for example implementing Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D or DTS:X systems.
Using Genelec's renowned SAM technology, the 7380 sits at the core of Genelec's extensive family of smart monitors. The GLM software, which works on Windows and Mac computers, can connect more than 40 monitors and subwoofers can be part of the same sound system, the software instantly restores the system settings and offers advanced automatic calibration functions for sound level, flight time and subwoofer phase. Professionals get access to comprehensive listening room acoustics compensation features, including adjustable crossover frequency and 20 parametric filters, which ensure that the 7380 can be optimized for best performance even in challenging acoustic environments. GLM supports centralized and distributed bass control and is therefore suitable as a partner for all monitor speakers.
The 7380 is just as powerful when not paired with SAM speakers. With the DIP switches and controls on the front panel, the subwoofer can be used without a computer.
It can work as part of hybrid systems where the main monitors are traditional analog speakers. In this mode, the division frequency of the analog signal is fixed at 85 Hz.
For those working with multi-channel audio, the 7380 offers a 7.1-channel bass manager with XLR analog inputs and outputs and AES/EBU digital stereo input and output, which can also be expanded to 7.1 using Genelec's 9301 Digital Interface adapter.
