X802D-U player installation kit for Volkswagen T5 (7H/E/J) Year model 09/2009 – 06/2015 and T6 (7H/E/J) 07/2015 and newer cars.
The dashboard of the Volkswagen Transporter is a challenge due to its very small installation depth, but Alpine is the only manufacturer that offers the possibility to install a navigation instrument with an 8″ screen, with the help of the KIT-802T5 installation kit.
The installation kit contains all the necessary components, such as the installation frame and mounting brackets, CAN-bus adapter, steering wheel remote control adapter and antenna adapter. A separate "cap" is also included, which can be installed on the upper edge of the instrument frame to improve the readability of the screen in sunlight.
Original steering wheel buttons
The Alpine X802D-U can also be controlled with the original VW Transporter T5 / T6 steering wheel buttons. You can change songs, adjust the volume, reject or answer calls without removing your grip from the steering wheel, and if you have connected your iPhone to Alpine, you can even use Siri directly from the steering wheel buttons.
Original displays in the instrument cluster
The instrument panel display is connected to Alpine's player, so you can get the information there as before. You can see, for example, the name of the radio channel, song and artist information, navigation instructions, etc.
Reversal radar information
If your car has a factory-installed reversing radar, you will not lose this information if you replace the X802D-U player in your car. The latest generation of Alpine's instruments display the information of the reversing radar in great detail.
Air conditioner information
The X802D-U will display the information for a few seconds when you use the air conditioner. The display shows information about the driver's and co-driver's temperatures, seat heaters, ventilation nozzles, etc.
