The newest newcomer to the DEBUT series, Debut PRO S, 10" sound arm with removable sound box carriage, Pick It S2 C sound box, turned aluminum auxiliary plate, Record Puck E center weight, VTA and Azimuth adjustments.
Our turntables require conscious music listening. The Debut PRO S takes this philosophy to the extreme. We finished all parts except for the polished spindle in matte black. Manual controls invite the listener to interact with the turntable: turn it on, place the record on the platter, move and lower the tone arm. The musical reward follows the tactile experience. Unnecessary switches, LEDs or markings do not distract from the essentials.
A milestone for the next decades
Debut PRO S brings a completely new design to Pro-Ject turntables. The audiophile turntable is convincing in every way – not only visually, but most importantly, sonically as well.
Precise CNC-milled parts are optically perfectly coordinated and lead to Debut PRO S's modern simple, elegant and unprecedented design.
The Debut PRO S plays 33, 45 and 78 round records with standard equipment. The speed change is controlled with an easy-to-use three-position (33 – OFF – 45) rocker switch. For 78-round records, a round drive belt is included, the needle Ortofon Stylus 78 is not included. The electronic speed change brings ease of use, but above all the electronically regulated control circuit of the motor ensures a precise and stable rotation speed of the motor.
A motor and a drive belt rotate the turntable via a platter, keeping the appearance of the instrument clean and elegant. The aluminum skid plate rests on a stainless steel and bronze precision-machined main bearing. The actual turntable is made of steel: it has a mass of 1.7 kilos and is TPE damped on the inside. This is a technically excellent combination: the mass guarantees a stable and precise rotation speed and the TPE damping eliminates resonances.
New turntable
The die-cast aluminum platter is carefully machined and precisely balanced in an additional step to produce a smoothly rotating platter. It is anti-magnetic, so MC sound boxes also work properly in it.
Inside the anti-magnetic heavy duty aluminum platter is a ring made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) which helps dampen all platter resonances and minimizes wobble.
Azimuth & VTA adjustment
With the help of the newly designed new tonearm frame stand, both azimuth and vertical tracking angle (VTA) can be adjusted. The height of the tonearm can be continuously adjusted by loosening two screws. These adjustment options allow you to adjust the tone arm to changes in height, allowing you to use different turntable mats or different sound boxes to achieve the desired sound quality. Setting the VTA and azimuth and experimenting with the end result is crucial to get the last nuances out of the sound box.
