Alpha series background
Designed in 1991, the idea behind the original Alpha speakers was to develop an affordable speaker, where the only design goal was to make a good-sounding, affordable speaker. Paul S. Barton, the founder of PSB, put his passion and decades of expertise and the results of research conducted at Canada's National Research Council (NRC) into play. The PSB Alpha was born, which quickly became one of the world's most respected affordable small speakers. In Finland, too, Alpha B won Hifimaailma magazine's test in its class.

The BluOS Controller application makes listening to music easy. The connection to the Alpha iQ speakers is established automatically and with the help of the application you can easily choose your favorite music to play and control all functions. Music plays lossless up to 24bit/192kHz HiRes quality without delays, and you control functions wirelessly from any room with Apple iOS or Android devices.
Sound quality to be taken seriously
The Alpha iQ's sound is surprising: how can you get such a convincing sound from such a small speaker? Although the sound is surprising, there are no shortcuts: you need serious technology such as 19mm ferrofluid-damped aluminum tweeters with neodymium magnets, steel-framed 100mm polypropylene basses with rubber edges, powerful amplifiers and a DSP-controlled crossover filter. All of the above when installed in acoustically properly designed enclosures are a recipe for bass reproduction that feels unreal from such a small speaker.
