There are at least two things to consider when installing speakers on the wall, especially in high-rise or townhouse apartments, where this product offers a solution.

When a hole is made in the wall for embedding the speaker, in some places a fireproof protective hood to be installed behind the speaker is a mandatory accessory. If a fire breaks out in the apartment behind the wall, the dome prevents the fire from spreading through the wall to another apartment.

Another perhaps more practical need is sound insulation. The protective dome prevents sound from traveling to the neighboring apartment, and of course the soundproofing also works in the other direction.
