TOROIDAL TRANSFORMER
The toroidal transformer is known for its superior performance in Hi-Fi products and is therefore also chosen for the AS 2200 amplifier.
Its ability to sustain energy, combined with the other features of the A-S2200 amplifier, brings all the emotional energy of the artist to the listener.
THICK GROUNDING WIRES PRODUCE LOW IMPEDANCE
The natural and open soundstage is achieved through superior design and component selection. Thick ground wires are deliberately chosen to produce a low impedance amplifier, which achieves a wide and open soundstage for the listener.
PC-TRIPLE C
The A-S2200 uses high-end PC-triple C wires for the internal speaker cabling. The result is a very fine-resolution lower register, a musical sound image, and tight and controlled bass reproduction with power and dynamics.
HIGH QUALITY SPEAKER CONNECTORS
The screw terminals and specially designed parts are machined from pure brass and ensure a tight cable connection without compromising sound quality. The finger-friendly screws not only look good, but are also easy to tighten and loosen with little force.
MECHANICAL EARTHING CONCEPT
A mechanical grounding concept that includes welding the feet directly to the chassis, large heat sinks, a high-efficiency transformer, and capacitors directly mounted to the chassis. This implementation eliminates unwanted vibration and achieves an expressive rhythm to the music.
RENOVATED DEVICE FEET
To complement the rigidity of the amplifier chassis, the A-S2200 is equipped with heavy-duty, redesigned brass feet.
Floating and balanced power amplifier & MOSFET transistors
The basic structure of the power amplifier circuit follows Yamaha's own specially developed floating and balanced power amplifier technology. The plus and minus sides of the output stage have the same polarity, and the NFB (Negative Feedback) circuit and power supply stage are completely isolated for the left and right channels into four different plus and minus sides - this gives the output stage a completely symmetrical phase shift. "Floating" the entire power amplifier stage from ground eliminates any negative interference that small voltage fluctuations and background noise could cause. The MOSFET transistors in the output elements bring warmth and naturalness to the sound. Their polarity is the same on the plus and minus sides, which contributes to the ideal of perfect symmetry and eliminates variations in sound quality due to polarity differences. This is precisely the remarkable feature of a floating and balanced power amplifier. The result is sound with a superior signal-to-noise ratio and a very precise sound field.
All power stages feature separate construction, balanced signal transmission and low impedance design
The A-S2200 amplifier has achieved a completely separate structure for bypassing the control circuits, as the tone control circuit is completely isolated from the signal system. This has a positive effect on the response and the speed of voltage change, as a result of which the high frequencies are reproduced more vividly, fuller and smoother. The signal transmission and signal amplification utilize a fully balanced signal transmission in a completely balanced structure, including the system control circuit. The signal loss during transmission is significantly reduced, as the preamplifier unit and the power amplifier unit have used screw clamp-type mounting solutions and thick wires. This is essential for the signal transmission and the structure between the power stage and the speaker terminals. These solutions improve the damping factor, the capacity of the elements and the damping effect of the speakers. The result is a lively and effective bass reproduction.
State-of-the-art electronic volume control for ideal sound reproduction
The A-S2200 uses a high-quality digital volume control developed specifically for this purpose by New Japan Radio Co. Ltd. It uses only ladder-type resistors, eliminating voltage drop and the effect of sound coloration. The result is a cleaner sound and excellent, fast response to large volume changes and sharp transients.
Symmetrical design for ideal stereo sound reproduction
The left-right symmetry of the structures in the power supply and power amplifier sections enables high-quality separation of the left and right channels – which is very important for high-quality two-channel stereo sound reproduction – and optimal weight distribution. The chassis features a precisely adjusted edge-to-edge frame and redesigned metal feet (with optional spikes or pads). They give the device good mechanical rigidity and enable stable placement, significantly reducing the impact of external vibrations on sound quality.
Separate turntable amplifier
The turntable amplifier has a separate MC preamplifier and EQ amplifier. They enable you to hear the rich, beautiful sound of vinyl records when using both MC and MM cartridges.
Separate headphone amplifier
The separate headphone amplifier section has excellent control and attenuation properties. The level trimmer responds to different impedances. The A-S2200 amplifier's superior sound quality is therefore also enjoyable through headphones.
Level meters provide visual representation of music dynamics
The A-S2200 amplifier features level meters on the front panel, allowing you to enjoy your music visually. The fast, precise movements of the meters are illuminated with a beautiful warm LED light. In addition to volume, the meters can be selected to show peak values. The meter cover is precisely fitted to the chassis.
Stylish design
The sophisticated design and construction of the A-S2200 amplifier reflect Yamaha's appreciation for exquisite craftsmanship and craftsmanship. This attitude stems from a long tradition as a manufacturer of world-class musical instruments. The metal front panel and wooden side panels are beautifully joined together using state-of-the-art processing techniques. The machined aluminum controls feel and look elegant.
Beautifully finished remote control
The remote control echoes the metallic design language of the aluminum-paneled amplifier. The buttons are arranged for easy and logical use. The volume and input source selectors control not only the A-S2200 amplifier but also the Yamaha CD player.
