Description
Designed with enjoyable sound quality in mind
The CD-S303 CD player utilizes several sound quality features of high-end CD players, which guarantee an enjoyable listening experience for music lovers. In addition to CDs, it plays music files stored on a USB memory device via the front panel USB port.
Pure Direct function
The CD-S303 includes the Pure Direct function, which is a familiar and popular feature of Yamaha amplifiers and receivers. A button on the front panel or on the remote control turns off the digital audio output and the display. This guarantees the lowest possible interference and thus the best sound quality of the analog audio output.
Very sophisticated circuit design and layout
Yamaha technicians have carefully invested in the layout of the parts and the internal parts of the circuit boards, which significantly affects the sound quality. The power supplies for the motor drive, display and USB parts, as well as the digital and analog parts are individually isolated, eliminating electromagnetic interference between them. The operating mechanism is located in the center of the unit, which ensures ideal weight balance and stable performance.
Short signal paths
The highly logical and symmetrical internal structure of the parts and circuit boards is designed to keep the signal paths as short as possible in each circuit. The purposeful design also keeps the paths between parts straight and short, thus minimizing the possibility of signal loss or interference, which is not easy to achieve.
High-quality parts that fit well together
Every part of a CD player affects the sound quality, which is why Yamaha invests in the selection of parts and materials and their compatibility. A few examples of Yamaha's commitment to excellent sound quality are the high-quality acoustic capacitor, the new quiet high-gain amplifier, and the use of damping material under the transformer and around the signal cables. In short, the refined internals of the CD-S303 match the level usually found in more expensive models.
Powerful DA converter
Using a 192kHz/24-bit DA converter, the powerful DA conversion system utilizes Yamaha's sophisticated digital technology honed over the years and guarantees excellent conversion accuracy, S/N ratio and dynamic range.
Laser detection with float mechanism
Laser detection is isolated to the float mechanism, so vibration does not affect the sensitive operation of the laser.
Intelligent digital servo
In traditional servo circuits, it is not possible to completely eliminate errors caused by a warped plate, dust and other defects. This system uses reliable DSP (Digital Signal Processor) signal processing exclusive to CDs to monitor the signal, adjust laser detection tracking and focus, and adjust spindle motor speed to correct any problems.
Listen to MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC and FLAC music
The front panel USB port allows you to easily listen to digital MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC or FLAC music files stored on USB memory devices. You can also play files recorded on CD-R/RW discs.
3 modes in the CD text display
The information of the CD being played is shown directly on the CD player's screen. The CD text display in three modes shows the name of the CD, the name of the artist and the name of the track.
Program playback (audio CDs only)
It is easy to program the songs in any order. You can clear the program at any time with one touch.
