With over 130 years of experience, Yamaha has developed into one of the world's leading audio companies. The M-5000 embodies this principle with its tradition-honoring craftsmanship and market-leading innovation, while also serving as a premier example of the highest quality audio performance.
Designed for performance
The carefully designed M-5000 features a perfectly symmetrical configuration that separates the left and right channels both physically and electrically.
The intentionally simple design also minimizes the signal path, preventing energy loss and creating a lower impedance for highly accurate sound reproduction.
Floating and balanced MOSFET power amplifier
Compared to traditional power amplifiers, where power is supplied through a power transistor and the negative polarity is connected to ground, the M-5000's power supply is connected directly to all positive and negative output terminals.
Floating the entire power amplifier circuit off ground prevents any unwanted effects on the sound reproduction from small voltage fluctuations or ground noise.
This design also provides an ideal symmetrical configuration for the use of MOSFET power amplifiers and improves the driveability of low-impedance speakers.
Robust frame construction with mechanical grounding concept
The M-5000 has been designed from the ground up to minimize rigidity - reducing unwanted vibration for optimal Sonic performance.
Additionally, using a mechanical grounding concept and bolting the power amplifier, coupling capacitors and heat sink directly to the robust and streamlined structure ensures that the components are fully supported and the effect of vibration is eliminated.
Massive toroidal core transformer and low impedance structure
To deliver Hi-Fi performance, a massive toroidal transformer is coupled with a 3-millimeter-thick brass base to prevent unwanted vibration.
In addition, due to less current leakage, the power transformer also does not affect the surrounding audio circuits.
Copper wires coming from the winding core enable low impedance, significantly reducing energy loss compared to traditional designs.
Thick wires and screw-type connections for power supply
Thick wires and screw-type connections contribute to the M-5000 amplifier's low impedance design and reduce energy loss that typically occurs in traditional connections and wiring configurations.
Using screws and brass terminals directly on the coupling capacitors instead of soldering provides a strong connection with low impedance.
Custom-made legs
The M-5000 is a flagship model designed with attention to detail, imbued with masterful craftsmanship and a passion for achieving the best possible performance.
The same applies to the device's feet. The uniquely designed, sturdy brass feet are either fully supported with spikes or with scratch protection for delicate surfaces.
Gorgeous, large meters reflect the dynamics of the music
The M-5000's front panel features large, highly accurate meters that allow listeners to visualize the dynamics of the music.
The 7-millimeter-thick, high-quality gauges made of Asahi glass complement the luxurious and exceptionally stylish visual appearance of the M-5000.
Premium speaker connections
The M-5000 amplifier uses oversized, screw-type speaker terminals for ease of use and secure connections. Yamaha's original design, using pure brass, is based on meticulous attention to detail and premium quality.
The 3-millimeter-thick connection plate is made of brass for durability, and the plate helps reduce sound distortion thanks to its non-magnetic properties.
