Made for BMW E46
The Alpine ILX-705E46 with a high-resolution 7″ WXGA screen integrates perfectly into the BMW E46 dashboard and brings all of today's goodies to the car in one shell.
The Alpine iLX-705E46 belongs to the same product family as the new generation of Halo players, including a class D amplifier as the first car player in the world.
In addition to the player, you need certain installation accessories, depending on your car's original player. We listed these parts at the bottom of this page.

7″ WXGA screen
The Alpine iLX-705E46 has a 1280 x 720p (WXGA) resolution, which means the screen has more than 2.7 million pixels. Thanks to this, all icons, menus and, for example, navigation map information are displayed really sharp and clear. The iLX-705E46 contains Alpine's best 7″ screen ever.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
The iLX-705E46 works wirelessly with the iPhone and you can, among other things, receive and make calls, dictate messages using Siri and use, for example, Google Maps, Apple's Maps application, WhatsApp or Spotify streaming while the phone is in your pocket.
You can easily use Siri by pressing the player's voice control button once.

Two USB inputs
The Alpine iLX-705E46 does not contain a CD/DVD drive, but thanks to the two USB connections, you can, for example, charge your phone through one connector, and the other connector can hold a USB stick or hard drive from which you play music and video files.

Android Auto
Android Auto enables the use of many applications on the phone directly from the screen of the iLX-705E46. You just connect your phone to the player with a USB cable and all Android Auto applications are immediately available. You can use your own favorite applications for navigation, such as Google Maps, Waze or Sygic, and you can play music via, for example, Spotify, Deezer or e.g. Amazon Music.

The world's first car stereo with a class D amplifier
Alpine iLX-705E46/-F905D/-F115D are the world's first car retrofits with a built-in 4 x 50W Class D amplifier. The advantage of class D is an incredibly good efficiency (about 90%) compared to the efficiency of a class AB amplifier (about 50-70%). New and almost silent high-speed fans keep the player cool.

Pioneer in sound quality
Alpine's sound quality has become a concept that other instrument brands are always compared to.
A 56-band parametric equalizer, two-way crossover filters, six-channel digital delay controls, and separate Bass Engine SQ and MediaXpander allow you to adjust the sound exactly the way you want it.
And it didn't end there, because the iLX-705E46 is Hi-Res Audio certified and the player is able to play 96kHZ / 1.536 kbps lossless files from USB in FLAC, WAV and APE formats.

The TIDAL app
Alpine ILX-705E46 / ILX-F905D / ILX-F115D are the world's first retrofit car stereos that allow streaming completely uncompressed music from TIDAL. With Alpine, a WiFi connection is created to e.g. the phone's hotspot, after which Alpine is directly connected to TIDAL's servers. The music is not compressed or compressed at any point and you get the best possible sound quality!
When the phone's hotspot and TIDAL are active, Apple CarPlay exceptionally requires the phone to be connected to the player with a USB cable.
The TIDAL application requires updating the player's software to version 2.0.000

Entertainment on the big screen
In addition to the traditional RDS tuner, you also have a digital DAB radio and the option to play video files (MP4, MOV, FLV, MKV) via the USB connection. Bluetooth, on the other hand, allows you to play music from your phone and make hands-free calls, and you can bring images and sound from an external device to the HDMI input.

Camera management
A reversing camera is a piece of equipment that we recommend for every car. The camera's image appears on the player's 7″ screen automatically, when the reverse gear is switched on. The camera's guidance lines can be adjusted according to the dimensions of your car, making reversing and understanding distances even easier.
Due to the player's large screen, we recommend Alpine MultiView cameras with a sufficient 1280 x 960 resolution.

Wireless volume control (Accessory)
The Alpine RUE-BK01 is a Bluetooth-operated volume control that can be paired with the ILX-705E46. By pressing the volume knob, you can view the reversing or front camera image.

• If the car has a BMW Navigation Professional (navigation unit in the trunk of the car), an extension cable is needed from the trunk to the player:
  • AH-EXTC-BMW1 (if the navi unit has a 17-pin BMW connector)
  • AH-EXTC-BMW2 (if the navigation unit has a Quadlock connector)
• If the car does not have a BMW factory-installed navigation device, the above-mentioned AH-EXTC-BMW1 / **BMW2 cable is not needed, but the buttons of the air conditioner must be moved above the ashtray. Depending on the car, there are four different options for this, including the original BMW part numbers:
  • 51 16 8 202 186 = Individual buttons, no ashtray
  • 51 16 8 230 902 = Individual buttons, with ashtray
  • 51 16 7 001 408 = Buttons together, with ashtray
  • 51 16 7 001 410 = Buttons together, with ashtray
• If the car has a Harman & Kardon sound system in addition to the above-mentioned players, the car may require a 13-1190-50 active adapter, but as a general rule, 99% of cars equipped with Harman Kardon do not need this adapter.
