Rebuilt engines
The second generation R2-series subwoofers feature a large double magnet, which allows the reproduction to go lower and the reproduction is tighter, compared to the previous R-Series generation. The “Faraday Ring” integrated into the voice coil increases the power endurance and reduces possible distortion, which in turn provides clean bass reproduction even at higher volumes than before. The cones of the R2-Series subwoofers are Kevlar-reinforced, which makes the cone very durable, without increasing the weight of the cone too much.
Top-notch performance, already in the second generation
Before the R-Series, Alpine had the Type-R line, which was known for its performance, reliability, and really tight bass response. Now, the second generation R2-Series is even better than its predecessor!
Alpine reliability
The new polypropylene/ceramic composite cone is very stiff, so the cone doesn't take on a life of its own, resulting in a smoother response and a very durable cone material.
Versatile use options
All new R2 subwoofers are dual voice coils (2 x 4ohm or 2 x 2ohm) and come with jumpers for easy connection options. The new “EZ-Change” collar creates a stylish installation and the EZ-Change ring hides the mounting screws.
More accurate playback
The R2 - Series subwoofers feature Alpine's patented HAMR (High Amplitude Multi-Roll) suspension. The cone's range of motion is increased and the suspension keeps the cone's movement much better under control than with traditional suspension.
Six different versions
The new R2 - Series subwoofer range covers three different sizes (8″, 10″, 12″) and each subwoofer is available in 2 x 2ohm and 2 x 4ohm versions.
