Patented performance
S-Series subwoofers use numerous solutions patented by Alpine that you will not find from any other brand!

• Patented magnetic solution, thanks to which the magnetic field can be symmetrical and the amount of distortion minimized. (US Pat#6639993)
• Patented voice coil cooling, where cool air is supplied to the voice coil from behind the magnet and warm air is brought out of the voice coil through the ventilation ducts of the frame. (US Pat #7684585)
• Patented HAMR upper suspension, where the trajectory of the cone can be kept under better control than traditional suspension. (US Pat #8208677)
• Patented progressive lower suspension with integrated silver wires, which prevents possible mechanical interference sounds. (US Pat #6810988)

HAMR
High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) is Alpine's patented upper suspension. Compared to a traditional suspension, with a HAMR suspension, the trajectory of the cone stays much better linear, especially when at a higher volume the normal suspension starts to live a life of its own.

Carbon fiber/polypropylene cone
The cone material of the S-Series subbar is a combination of carbon fiber and polypropylene. Thanks to the light but sturdy cone, the reproduction of the eight-inch element reaches up to 35 hertz, producing a distortion-free and pleasant bass reproduction in its entire reproduction range, regardless of the music style.

Double coils and proper cooling
The Alpine S2-W8D4 has two four-ohm voice coils. The subbar comes with "jumpers" that you can easily make the connection you want. The spring-loaded terminals are placed next to each other, which makes connecting even easier.
Up to 8mm² speaker cable goes to the terminals.
