Although digital signal processing has long found its way into the BRAX world with the legendary BRAX DSP, analog amplifiers have always been considered the benchmark for achieving the best sound quality and measurements. However, with the BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO, a new era begins – one that the name itself suggests: a new, digital sound revelation that surpasses everything previously released in car audio!
The BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO is the first automotive version of Purif's innovative ′Eigentakt′ technology, which sets new standards in terms of performance and sound quality. The BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO uses the best available components and can be equipped with either an analog input module with TI/BurrBrown operational amplifiers or a digital module with ESS converters, ensuring the best possible signal quality in any case.
New standards in sound quality - With PURIFI's EIGENTAKT technology, the BRAX RX2 PRO combines compact size and efficiency in an impressive way. With its technical and sound quality features, the RX2 PRO raises the quality standards of amplifiers to a completely new level. In close cooperation with the Danish manufacturer PURIFI, a unique and uncompromising concept was implemented, based on their patented EIGENTAKT technology — a concept that dispels all previous prejudices against digital amplifiers.
Another key factor in the RX2 PRO's unparalleled sound quality is the amount of work that has gone into designing its power supply. The power supply has been tuned to provide a stable voltage that is less dependent on the battery voltage. This ensures full compatibility with start-stop systems as well as electric cars. In addition, the power supply is equipped with a total of 67 electrolytic capacitors with a huge total capacity, ready to deliver high impulse currents when needed. To ensure that the circuit board does not slow down the flow of current, Brac has opted for an eight-layer copper circuit board, which has been used to minimize internal resistance.
Flexible input options with premium quality signal processing.
The analog input module introduces a new ″Super-Balanced″ principle, where two extremely low noise and low distortion BurrBrown OPA1612 operational amplifiers form a differential input stage per channel. This not only processes the signal, but also ensures very high quality, while providing excellent protection against interference from cars.
The digital input module, with both optical and coaxial SPDIF inputs, shines with its quality thanks to the excellent ESS DAC!
This DAC achieves previously unattainable performance in car hifi: a signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB and a distortion value of -117 dB (equivalent to 0.00014%). These excellent values are possible thanks to the careful design of the DAC's power supply. The dual voltage regulator developed by ESS supplies each channel separately with an extremely interference-free signal, as well as a very stable operating voltage. As part of a logical, comprehensive concept in line with BRAX standards, the digital input module also supports BRAX DSP's own DiSAC 2.0 protocol, which enables unparalleled volume control at the end of the signal chain.
