In the early 2000s, DD's 9900 series was called The Beast. After a long hiatus, The Beast is back and better than ever. The latest version is designed to meet the demands of ultra-low frequencies in modern music. The elements of this collection can be driven for long periods of time with very high powers and long trajectories. The element is optimized for playing with a power of 1500-2500 watts and it can withstand short-term powers of up to 10,000 watts.
By looking at the Element's engine, you can see where the name The Beast comes from. The magnet is over three inches tall and ten inches wide. The precisely machined magnet structure holds a 4″ voice coil. The mechanical travel range is more than three inches, and even at its extremes, the voice coil is far enough inside the magnet to maintain control of the element.
This element uses an ESP structure ( Evolution Subwoofer Performance ) which includes, among other things, lower suspensions with a larger diameter, a body with the depth required by the trajectory, and an upper suspension and cone structure that differs from normal model series. ESP elements are built to achieve maximum performance in their size class.
Technical information: -15″ subwoofer - cast frame - 2 x 1 ohm voicecoil - magnet weight 31.7 kg - 4″ voice coil diameter - driver displacement: 8.8 liters - recommended ported enclosure 50-80 liters (NET) - power handling 2500 W RMS - Peak power handling 10,000 watts - x-max: +- 22 mm - xmech: 100 mm - qts: 0.466 - Fs: 37.01 Hz - Left: 26.16 liters - mounting depth 247 mm - Cutout diameter 310 mm.
