Description
DD Audio BSI-1
With DD Audio's BSI, you get MORE BASS from practically any equipment! BSI includes a level controller and a line converter!
Distribution filters. The device has an adjustable subsonic filter and a low-pass filter with a pitch of 24dB/oct. If you want, you can adjust exactly where the bass frequencies are cut off, both at the top and at the bottom end. With these, for example, you can get a little more out of a bass with a reflex enclosure in the area that the enclosure reproduces, and you protect the element by cutting off sounds below the tuning frequency.
Level control with many functions. In addition, a multifunctional level control is included. So, with this device, you can get the much-needed bass knob even for those large amplifiers that did not have one included (for example, SounDigital's amplifiers). With the control, you can not only adjust the level, but also adjust the strength of the effect you are making AND set it ON/OFF. That is, in Finnish. You can make a cool rebassed adjustment that gives ALL music MORE BASS. And with the control you can choose whether you want to use it or not if you sometimes feel like listening to music more normally. These two things alone make this device worth getting if you have a big terminal and not a separate DSP with which you manage the adjustments.
Effect. And what is that adjustable effect then? It is a parametric equalizer where you can choose the bandwidth, the amount of emphasis and the center frequency. That is, cranking the bass frequencies adds a kick to a very narrow or very wide frequency range. Or something in between as you wish.
Active line converter. The device also accepts a speaker-level signal into it, i.e. it also works as an active line converter. The device automatically recognizes a speaker-level signal and wakes up. And also gives a boost to your amplifier if you want. Alternatively, the device can also be turned on with a separate excitation cable and it also receives the signal at line level if a retrofitted player is used.
Line amplifier. The device takes in signal levels between 0.5-40 V. That means it can be connected to virtually any instrument or OEM amplifier. And it outputs a signal level of up to 10 Volts. So with this device you can increase the line voltage given by the basic player to completely different readings.
As is typical for DD, this device also has a clip light that lets you see when the signal is distorted.
