GAS MAD S3-12D2
A 12″ sub with double coils from the GAS MAD S3 collection.
When designing the GAS MAD S3 subwoofers, GAS's most affordable MAD S2 collection was taken as a starting point, and the new "Äs Kolmose" was wanted to be tougher in all areas, but the price of the subwoofer was still wanted to be kept as affordable as possible.
The MAD S3 subwoofers have been renewed in all areas. among other things, with its 2 x 2ohm voice coils, the cones are uncompressed paper pulp, the upper suspensions are double stitched, the magnets are double and the dust cups are aluminum with the GAS 3D logo.
The familiar cone from the MAX series
The cones of the MAD S3 subs are uncompressed paper pulp and the cone material is the same that GAS uses in all its more expensive MAX series subs. The rubber upper suspensions are also tougher than the MAD S2 version and the suspensions are also double stitched.
The whole is crowned by a stylish aluminum dust cup with a 3D GAS logo.
Double magnets and double coils
The GAS MAD S3 subwoofers have four-layer two-inch TIL® copper voice coils.
The metal frame is DVS "Dual Ventilation System" with cooling, which effectively transfers the heat away from the voice coil.
The crown of the MAD S3 motor is 2 x 52oz double magnets.
Small details
Not only do the MAD S3 subs sound really good, they look like it too.
The black-orange element is surrounded by a stylish plastic ring, the voice coil ventilation holes are in accordance with the GAS logo and the elements are really nicely finished in every way, both front and back.
