Mid basses
The MAX K2-64 is sturdy with cast-frame 6.5″ midbass. The Fs value of the element is low (59.1Hz), so in addition to the middle sound, the speaker's mid-bass reproduction is very dynamic and powerful.
The cone material is compressed paper pulp with a WRC (Water Repellent Coating) coating. The cone is thus made very light, which increases the sensitivity of the element, but at the same time the cone material is really durable and the coating is also water resistant. The upper suspension is flexible nitrile rubber and the lower suspension is polycotton / nomex® fabric.
The cooling of the voice coil has been taken care of with DVS (Dual Ventilation System) technology, which is also used in GAS subwoofers.
The midbasses come with very sturdy and stylish metal nets.
Treble
The MAX K2-64 series tweeter has a cast body like the midbass. The sound of the silk calotte treble is very soft and unstressed, reproducing cleanly even the brightest notes.
Distribution filters
Installing a separate set is easy, as each element has its own passive filter built from high-quality components. This makes installation easier if the mid-bass is installed, for example, on the door and the tweeters on the dashboard or a-pillars, for example. The passive filters for both mid-bass and treble are compact in size.
Depending on the installation location, sometimes the phase of the treble has to be turned in the opposite direction to the phase of the midbass. Treble filters have a phase reversal, which makes it easy to test which setting works better in your car. In addition, the treble level can be dropped by two decibels with the jumper in the filter.
