The 8350A DSP active two-way loudspeaker takes the quality of a monitor loudspeaker one step closer to perfection. It matches the performance of its much larger competitors, but is ideal for situations where high-quality sound reproduction is required in confined spaces. The 8350A is ideal for near-field monitoring in recording studios, project or home studios, audio workstation applications, radio or TV control room use and outside production trucks.f

The 8350A is a bass reflex loudspeaker with optimized flow characteristics in the reflex tube to minimize flow losses and flow-related noise. The DCW waveguide integrated into the cabinet structure, together with the soft shapes and curves of the MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure), produces a very flat frequency response not only on the acoustic axis but also in other directions of sound radiation. In addition, this technology improves the accuracy of the stereo image and reduces listening fatigue.

A carefully designed, very steep DSP crossover produces a signal for the extremely low distortion loudspeaker drivers. The 8350A is magnetically shielded, overload protected and its DSP offers an unprecedented range of room response correction tools. Genelec Loudspeaker Manager GLM is a combination of computer software and loudspeaker control network that allows loudspeaker level calibration, delay differences due to distance differences and changes in loudspeaker response caused by room installation to be automatically corrected using the AutoCal calibration system. The 8350A features both analogue and digital AES/EBU inputs. In addition, the AES/EBU signal can be daisy-chained via the output connector.

Each 8350A includes an Iso-Pod anti-vibration mount that eliminates mechanical vibration and isolates the speaker from its mounting surface. The Iso-Pod allows the speakers’ acoustic axes to be aligned towards the listening position. In addition, the 8350A includes integrated mounting points on the rear panel for wall and floor stands and an M10 base thread.
