The W371A Adaptive Subwoofer is a truly unique concept, specially designed to seamlessly complement the 8341, 8351 and 8361 monitors. With these , the W371 produces a full audioband monitoring system with unmatched sound neutrality and excellent control of directivity and room acoustics effects.
Now the advantages of the main monitor can be brought into the studio, while the speakers can be placed optimally in the observation room and it is possible to switch from close listening to main monitor listening without the sound image shifting.
The W371A is sized to act as a speaker stand for The Ones series (dimensions 1108 x 400 x 400 mm) and contains two high-performance bass drivers, one forward and one rear. The W371A offers a variety of ways to tailor the sound reproduction of the four lowest critical octaves in the listening room.
The W371A offers three different modes of operation, from which you can choose the one that suits your needs: You can emphasize a smooth frequency response and avoiding damping at bass frequencies, continue the directivity of the main monitors down to low frequencies, or minimize reflections from room interfaces. According to your choice, GLM calculates the most suitable directional pattern and other adjustments for the W371A, taking into account the location of both the monitor speakers and the listening position.
