The best sound quality
The Alpine Status collection includes many technologies, components and materials familiar from Alpine's F#1 Status collection, which guarantee the best possible sound quality - but at a more affordable price than the F#1 Status collection.
Alpine Status is capable of playing music up to 192kHz/24bit quality, which is available from various online services and streaming platforms.
The HDS-990 is installed next to your car's original or aftermarket stereo, and the HDS-990 does not contain e.g. a radio tuner or Bluetooth hands-free, but you use and control these as usual from your car's current stereo.
Hi-Res Audio media player
The sound quality of the HDS-990 Alpine Status media player is at the top of the world and the player is capable of playing music with up to 192kHz / 24bit quality. The player supports many different audio formats such as MP3, WMA, AAC, MP4, WAV, FLAC, APE and DSD. Music can be brought to the player via three different USB connections or via Bluetooth (with Bluetooth, the maximum quality is 96kHz/24bit).
Concealed central unit
The Alpine Status media player is easier to install in modern cars than a traditional player, because the 1-DIN size central unit is installed hidden behind the dashboard, for example, and only the stylish and easy-to-use control panel remains visible.
Different entrances
The Alpine HDS-990 has many different input options. Your car's factory-installed player can be connected to Alpine Status with a speaker-level signal. If your car has a retrofitted player, it can be connected to Status via RCA. In addition, the HDS-990 includes three USB inputs, all of which support 192kHz/24bit quality, as well as Bluetooth reception, whose playback reaches up to 96kHz/24bit.
Bluetooth music streaming
You can stream music wirelessly from your phone or other portable music player, as Alpine Status also supports LDAC and aptX HD High Resolution Bluetooth technologies.
Bluetooth transmission supports up to 96kHz / 24bit quality and SBC, AAC and aptX codecs.
Complete Alpine Status hardware
All components of the Alpine Status collection are made purely with sound quality conditions and the best possible listening pleasure in mind. Unlike the F#1 Status collection, all components of Alpine Status can be purchased separately.
Versatile outputs
The HDS-990 includes different output options, so there are several different options when it comes to building the equipment around the player. The HDS-990 has a built-in 4 x 50W amplifier and has six-channel RCA outputs for external amplifiers. In addition, there is an optical Toslink output and a digital coaxial output, which can be used to connect the player to e.g. the Alpine Status HDP-D90 DSP amplifier.
Adjustment possibilities
The HDS-990 has built-in 31-band parametric EQs for six channels, 3-way crossover filters and time delay controls.
Works with your car's current player
The Alpine Status media player is designed to work with your car's current player, whether it is a factory-installed or retrofitted player. Your car's current player works, for example, as an RDS and/or DAB+ radio sound source, a CD player, Bluetooth hands-free, and possibly you can also control some of your car's settings from the car's factory-installed player, while with the HDS-990 media player you play and control Hi-Res Audio level music.
The HDS-990 control panel is very stylish and compact in size, which makes it easy to place it on the car's dashboard or center console.
Works independently and with a DSP amplifier
You can use the HDS-990 media player as its own "stand-alone" device, in which case you use the media player's built-in amplifier (or external amplifiers).
You can use the full potential of Alpine Status when you connect the HDS-990 media player to the Alpine Status HDP-D90 DSP amplifier.
The HDP-D90 is a 12-channel amplifier with its own 31-band parametric EQ for each channel and numerous other adjustment options.
Top sound quality
Alpine Status can play music at up to 192kHz/24bit quality, which uses more than six times the amount of data compared to a traditional CD or streaming service.
Thanks to this, you get the finest nuances and details out of the music and get as close to studio-level sound as it's ever possible to get.
