Hifiman Sundara Closed headphones
The stylish appearance of Hifima's Sundara Closed Back headphones is enhanced by hand-finished, beech-wood ear cups. The advantage of closed headphones is that they isolate the music and the listening experience from the background noise of the outside world. Closed headphones also emphasize the natural bass reproduction of the original recording. Designed by Hifima's engineers, the ear cups offer two advantages: Exceptional sound and a stylish appearance.
Compared to the rectangular magnets of traditional flat headphones, the Stealth magnet developed by Hifiman significantly reduces reflections and diffraction that degrade sound quality, which in turn significantly improves the sound quality of the headphone.
Like the open-back Sundara, the new closed-back Sundara features an ultra-thin Super Nano diaphragm, up to 80% thinner than typical diaphragms used in headphones. The design results in an extremely wide frequency response (6Hz-50kHz) and sonic detail that reveals the fine details of well-recorded music.
Hifiman founder Dr. Fang Bian explains the history of the name: Sundara is a Sanskrit term meaning 'beautiful' and 'noble', both of which accurately describe the new headphone design, both inside and out. Music lovers will enjoy the new Sundara Closed Back model as much, if not more, than the original open-back model.
