which is very much clean and very stable direct current that you avoid mains pitfalls & drops, spikes and noise-causing RFI / EMI pollution.

The digital engine features two Burr-Brown DAC circuits in a custom interleaved configuration and has four pairs of differential signals - two pairs per channel. This means:

• Quieter noise
• Improved channel separation
• Finer musical details and micro-dynamics
• Support for formats up to PCM 32-bit/768 kHz and up to DSD512 and DXD, according to the manufacturer, everything in 'bit-perfect' format takes place through analog conversion.
• Both PCM and DSD remain "bitrate".

With up to 4100 mW of power, the micro iDSD Signature can drive all kinds of headphones. There are three modes for power and gain level: 'Turbo' for power-hungry headphones, 'Eco' for sensitive in-ear monitors and 'Normal' in between.

As well as including e.g. iEMatch technology to adjust the output level: with XBass + and 3D + controls

The front of the device has a 6.3mm single-ended output and a 4.4mm Pentaconn balanced. Both an RCA-out with the ability to connect to active speakers or a power amplifier to drive the function of a DAC, and there are USB-A and S/PDIF digital inputs and optical on the back.
