2.5-way Quad 4.5” (114 mm) center channel speaker
Designed at JBL’s world-renowned Acoustic Design Center of Excellence in Northridge, California, the Stage 245C is a center channel speaker designed to seamlessly integrate with Stage 2 floorstanding, bookshelf or even in-wall models. It features a 2.5-way design with next-generation patented High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) waveguide geometry, a 1” (25 mm) anodized aluminum dome tweeter, and four 4.5” (114 mm) polycellulose Ribbed Cone woofers for JBL’s signature deep bass.
Four 4.5” (114 mm) polycellulose Ribbed Cone woofers.
Each Stage 2 speaker features a Ribbed Cone woofer made from polycellulose. This paper cone features a proprietary blend of materials added for added rigidity, and the Ribbed Cone construction is inspired by legendary JBL styling. These woofers deliver deep, accurate bass that fills the room.
1” (25 mm) anodized aluminum tweeter in next-generation HDI™ waveguide
JBL has carefully studied the structures of previous waveguides and developed a new complex geometry that improves directivity, reduces diffraction and ensures a neutral frequency response both on and off the center axis. The Stage 2 speakers combine the HDI horn with an anodized aluminum dome tweeter, which improves efficiency and dynamics. The new structure ensures a neutral frequency response both on and off the center axis.
Precision 2.5-way crossover
This 245C center channel model features a unique 2.5-way crossover design. The top woofer reproduces mid and low frequencies, with a crossover frequency just below the tweeter's frequency range. The second woofer is optimized for low frequencies only, with a crossover frequency lower. This creates a dynamic midrange, but both woofers still extend as far as possible, so that the bass is reproduced with power. The result is a unified and balanced sound with a solid low end that you can both hear and feel. The crossovers installed in the Stage 2 speakers are made from premium materials. The high-frequency section uses air core voice coils and mylar capacitors to reduce distortion and improve sound reproduction. The bass section uses laminate core voice coils and electrolytic capacitors. These premium materials can handle more power and transmit energy faster, improving system performance.
