A renewed floor speaker with an immersive sound
The renewed KEF LS50 Meta speakers use a revolutionary meta material that absorbs 99% of unwanted sounds behind the treble element. The material and maze-like structure eliminates the resulting distortion and produces a cleaner, more natural sound.
The speakers use the 12th generation Uni-Q element. The new element combined with the metamaterial produces a cleaner sound with less distortion and coloration, which is more transparent and truer than before.
The appearance and performance of the case have also been refined. The LS50 Meta's low-diffraction, curved front plate is precisely modeled around the Uni-Q element. Its smooth curved surfaces help the sound to radiate across the face plate without the hard edges producing diffraction. The internal support and damping of the case have also been improved.
The opening and profile of the LS50 Meta's patented offset reflex port reduce turbulence, and the flexible port walls prevent resonances from coloring the midrange. This results in improved clarity with exceptional depth and detail. All this results in a cleaner, more accurate sound.
This is probably the best compact passive speaker available right now.
