The new Contour 20i is designed to surpass every other Contour tripod we've ever created. And it does.

The new Esotar 2i tweeter is a turbocharged version of the beloved Esotar 2. It now features a larger rear chamber for more effective damping and the innovative Hexis inner dome, seen in the Confidence, Core and other models. Together, they smooth out the frequency response and reduce unwanted resonances for a clearer and smoother treble.

The woofer has also been tuned. It is still made from our proprietary Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP) material, of course. The voice coil is still made from lightweight aluminum and still uses a vented dual ferrite magnet system. Behind the distinctive black cone is a new sub-suspension. This is made from aramid fibers and includes some ingenious structural features. The ribs are of different widths, allowing even more precise control of the cone's movement. You'll be surprised at the difference in sound that such small changes can make.

The crossover has also been simplified. Additional impedance matching circuits are no longer needed - which means an even more direct signal path and cleaner sound. The housing has also been reinforced and internal damping has been improved.
