Description
Marantz AV8805
13.2 channel 4K Ultra AV front amplifier
The Marantz AV8805 Network A/V Surround Processor/Preamp/Tuner combines advanced DSP and DAC technologies with Marantz innovations such as HDAM and Current Feedback. With the AV8805, you can experience real home theater enjoyment!
You can enjoy the ultimate movie surround sound with Dolby Atmos, the most advanced movie surround sound system. Dolby Atmos has the creation and reproduction of sound space from the object. With it, the sound elements can be placed precisely in the desired position from the front and side, surround and top speakers or by using speakers suitable for Dolby Atmos.
You can now enjoy brand new content thanks to many built-in functions such as Wi-Fi and wireless Bluetooth. Internet radio and streaming services such as Spotify Connect are also available.
Built-in Dolby Atmos; DTS:X ready
Dolby's new Atmos surround sound technology uses channel-based coding to better replace object-based coding, allowing sound engineers to direct sound anywhere in a three-dimensional space. You can now enjoy this award-winning technology in your home with the AV8805. You can connect a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and four additional speakers placed above that are Dolby Atmos compatible to the device. Since the AV8805 can process 13 channels, you can just add an external two-channel amplifier and enjoy an exciting 7.1.4-channel Atmos experience. Together with Dolby Atmos decoding and Dolby Surround Upmixing, the device is able to create surround and 3D sound from basic materials. In addition, the AV8805 has Dolby TrueHD lossless decoding and other Dolby Digital technologies.
The newest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X, is a destination-based sound encoding that enables audio professionals to precisely direct sound elements to the desired location in an acoustic 3D sound space. The system enables speakers placed above to produce an amazing sound experience. AV8805 also uses DTS-HD Master Audio and other DTS technologies. DTS:X and DTS Neural:X Upmixer can be updated to the device at a later date. DTS Neural:X replaces DTS Neo:X. More information about it: www.Marantz.com/dtsx .
Ready for Auro 3D upgrade
Auro-3D® is the next generation three-dimensional sound standard. With its help, a realistic, immersive sound experience is achieved. Auro-3D® creates a living sound world, the experience that you are really there. With the unique height channel configuration, the recorded acoustic reflections are reproduced by these speakers and are heard naturally, as the sounds come not only from around the listener but also from above.
The AV8805 is capable of decoding the original Auro-3D® mix and playing it with an Auro 10.1 channel configuration (including the "Voice of God" channel).
Advanced front sound mode expansion modes
The AV8805 has several options for expanding the front sound mode.
DTS Neo:X | 11.1 offers additional front height and front width channel possibilities. With Audyssey DSX you also get front height and width channels.
Advanced wireless Bluetooth and Wi-Fi network connection
Stream your favorite songs wirelessly via the AV8805's built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (b/g/n). With the AV8805's Bluetooth/Wi-Fi dual antennas, you can enjoy wireless streaming from your smartphone, tablet or portable music player.
By connecting the AV8805 to your home network via Wi-Fi or LAN, you can listen to thousands of internet radio stations or stream music from subscription-based music services such as SiriusXM and Pandora, or listen to Spotify using Spotify Connect Apps from your smart device.
The AV8805 also features Apple AirPlay, so you can wirelessly stream music from iPod touch, iPhone and iPad.
You can connect the AV8805 to your home network with a cable using an RJ-45 LAN connection. In addition, the front panel has a convenient USB port for directly connecting and charging an iPod, iPod touch, iPhone or iPad, as well as a connection for a portable USB device.
4K Ultra HD Video Processing; 4K 50/60Hz Pass-through; 4:4:4 Pure Color
The AV8805's advanced image processing department fully supports the next-generation high-resolution 4K Ultra HD image together with the latest generation HDMI specifications, including 4K 50/60Hz pass-through and full-color resolution 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling.
The AV8805 upscales 1080p content to 4K and can also convert analog HD and SD video sources, allowing you to connect both modern and legacy video sources with just one HDMI cable to your flat screen TV or projector.
ISFccc Video Calibration Controls
Certified by the Imaging Science Foundation, the AV8805 supports a range of advanced ISFccc image calibration controls to optimize the image on any TV or front projector.
8 HDMI inputs, 3 HDMI outputs
The AV8805 has nine HDMI inputs, two of which are conveniently located on the front panel of the device, and three HDMI outputs that allow you to use two different displays in the main room (eg a flat screen and a front projector) and one more HDMI display in another area, and are aligned with the latest 4K Ultra HD compatible according to HDMI specifications. The AV8805 has full HDCP 2.2 compatibility, which is a prerequisite for playback of copy-protected 4k Ultra-HD content. In addition, the device supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) and the extended color space according to the BT.2020 standard.
Audyssey Platinum Suite
With Audyssey MultEQ XT32, you can easily and quickly configure the basic home theater settings to a configuration optimized for its sound quality, specifically tailored to the acoustics of the room in question. Using eight measurement points, MultEQ XT32 produces a full set of digital precision filters, which are used to build a precise and natural sound balance. The AV8805 also has Audyssey Installer Pro ready for even more accurate acoustic adjustment.
Audyssey Dynamic Volume evens out larger volume jumps (such as loud commercials) and Dynamic EQ achieves full tonal balance at any volume. Audyssey LFC (Low Frequency Containment) produces advanced psychoacoustic algorithms, allowing you to enjoy deep bass without disturbing the neighbors or the rest of the family. Audyssey DSX dynamically expands sound by dramatically expanding the front sound space with front width or front height sound channels, or even both at the same time.
Extreme HDAM technology and Current Feedback
The AV8805 uses Marantz's extreme HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology based on the Reference Series. The AV8805 features multiple HDAM modules to achieve superior low-distortion and wide-bandwidth operation compared to traditional op amp ICs. With HDAM technology, you get an ultra-fast turning ratio with the right response and a maximum dynamic ratio and thus optimized sound quality for today's high-resolution audio formats.
In addition to HDAM technology, the AV8805 uses Current Feedback instead of the typical volt-based feedbac configuration. This Marantz innovation was already introduced in the company's first audiophile level amplifiers more than 60 years ago. With Current Feedback technology, you get a wide closed-loop bandwidth and a very high turning ratio, and thus superior accuracy and fidelity to the original sound source.
Support for more high-resolution audio formats
AV8805 supports a whole range of different audio formats such as MP3, WAV, MPEG-4 AAC and WMA. It also supports high-resolution audio tracks up to 24-bit/192-kHz. Such are e.g. AIFF, ALAC and FLAC formats. The device also has gapless playback capability with several different data formats, so you can enjoy listening without interruptions. The device also plays 2.8-MHz DSD high-resolution audio files (DSD is an advanced high-resolution audio coding system for SACD devices).
Versatile control functions
You can control the AV8805 with the ergonomically designed and easy-to-use remote control that comes with the device. The AV8805 also has other control options. Through the RS-232C serial port, you can directly connect an external automation device.
With Marantz Apps (iOS and Android versions available), you can control the AV8805 with any device you like, such as a smartphone or tablet.
You can also control the AV8805 with a web connection. Open your preferred browser and you can easily control and configure the AV8805 even when you are not at home.
With Audyssey DSX (Dynamic Surround Expansion), you can add a pair of front-width or front-height speakers to a 5.1 speaker system and thus turn the room into a large home theater by expanding the front sound space.
32-bit D/A conversion on all channels, balanced XLR input and output
The AV8805 features a premium AK4490 32-bit DAC on all channels and XLR inputs and outputs. The device has a balanced XLR stereo input that can be assigned to a specific purpose, and 15 balanced XLR outputs, of which one is for the subwoofer and the front height/width and top channels.
This wide range of balanced XLR compatibility ensures top-class performance both at home and in the studio, especially when the AV8802A is connected by a long cable to a power amplifier located elsewhere. 19 pre-output inputs (with RCA sections) bring more modification possibilities to various power amplifier models.
Advanced 3 zone/3 source multi-room capability
Enjoy your favorite movie or music in the main room Samara while others can listen to two different sources in the other rooms. Zones 2 and 3 have their own preamps and level adjustment options.
Easy to install, easy to use
The AV8805 comes with a Quick Installation Guide (in English) and has an on-screen Setup Assistant, which allows swat to configure the system as easily as possible. You can also control the installation with a computer browser or by using Marantz Remote Apps on a smart device.
