The McIntosh MC152 power amplifier delivers 150 watts of power into two channels at 2, 4 or 8 ohms. The amplifier has both balanced and unbalanced inputs for connecting a preamplifier. McIntosh's smallest stereo amplifier in the current collection in terms of power. This makes it perfect, for example, in home theaters for powering surround channels or for small-sized systems that don't need more power.
With a space-saving approx. 15 cm high frame, it fits where larger models cannot. Although it is physically smaller than other amplifiers, it is still packed with all the technology that McIntosh is known for and performs at the same high level as any other McIntosh amplifier. The Autoformer output ensures that each speaker receives full power regardless of its impedance. The unique Power Guard circuit prevents clipping that can damage the speakers. Speaker binding posts provide a secure connection to speaker cables.
The MC152 is completed by McIntosh's classic black glass front panel, silver end caps and a pair of large, easy-to-read blue power meters. Bring the MC152 home today and give your friends and family a legendary performance that only McIntosh can produce.
"Best Amplifier" 2015 - Hi-Fi World
"It was the combination of power, control and overall coherence that made the McIntosh work so well with seemingly all musical genres… It can be subtle and fleet-of-foot when needed – yet is just at home pounding out deep bass lines, crashing guitar chords or orchestral crescendos. Not just a cut-down version of McIntosh's bigger power amplifiers but a great performer in its own right." Awarded 5 out of 5 Globes. - Hi-Fi World
