The MHA150 headphone amplifier is the successor to the critically acclaimed MHA100. The MHA150 has the same features and performance as the MHA100, but with the addition of a new 2nd generation D/A converter (DAC) that supports DSD and DXD files, giving you access to the latest digital music.
Like the MHA100, the MHA150 continues to utilize unique McIntosh technologies to create the best possible personal listening experience regardless of the headphones. The Autoformer technology found in McIntosh's large mono and stereo amplifiers is tuned to produce three headphone impedance ranges, 8-40, 40-150 and 150-600 ohms, to give each headphone legendary McIntosh sound quality and performance.
For enjoying DSD and DXD files, the USB input accepts up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM signals and supports DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256 files as well as DXD 352.8kHz and DXD 384kHz. The MCT input allows you to connect the MCT80 SACD/CD player and provides a protected DSD connection for high-quality audio playback from SACD discs.
In addition to USB and MCT inputs, the amplifier also has optical and coaxial inputs for connecting digital devices. You also have two analog inputs at your disposal. Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD) brings an extra dimension to music with natural sound. HXD can also be turned off according to your preferences. The MHA150 is smaller than other McIntosh amplifiers, giving you more flexibility to place it in tighter spaces.
The MHA150 is one of several McIntosh products to receive the Roon Tested designation from Roon Labs. Both Roon and McIntosh have profiled and tested it for maximum compatibility. Roon recognizes it and sends it a sound optimized for its characteristics. Roon Tested devices are automatically identified and configured to ensure the best customer experience.
