Today's AC power lines are full of byproducts of noise-making equipment. The MPC1500 power filter can protect your audio system from this noise and power spikes. A filter allows you to provide a clean and steady flow to your audio system so that it can produce the best possible sound.
At the heart of the MPC1500 is a large but quiet toroidal isolation transformer, engineered to act as a low-pass filter to remove unwanted noise from the AC line. The device also has a fast-acting overvoltage protection module, which is activated when the voltage exceeds the nominal operating level by approx. 2V. This overvoltage is released slowly and harmlessly to the neutral wire of the circuit and not to the ground wire. Unlike many other devices, the MPC1500's damping module is not sacrificial and does not need to be replaced after a surge event.
The MPC1500 has six high-quality Suko plugs (Cee 7/3, Type F1). Two of the plugs are always active when the device is connected to the mains. The control of the other four plugs can be configured according to your preferences using the power switches on the rear panel. LED indicators on both the front and back indicate the current status of each plug.
McIntosh's famous blue wattmeters have been modified to show real-time incoming voltage and the actual current consumption of connected devices. All versions of the MPC1500 feature McIntosh's classic black glass front panel with blue gauges, illuminated logo, control knobs and aluminum end caps.
