McIntosh MPC500 Power Filter
Inconsistency in power quality can cause costly damage to electronic equipment. Protect your home audio system with the MPC500 power filter. Equipped with cascaded overvoltage protection, the MPC500 offers overvoltage protection of the AC power cord, protects against, for example, lightning strikes and possible overvoltages after that.
AC line protection is achieved by using a thermally protected metal oxide varistor (TPMOV), which is much safer than a conventional MOV. For secondary overvoltage events, the MPC500 protects ethernet, coaxial and other low voltage devices with Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT), PTC thermistors (Positive Temperature Coefficient) and TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) components. The MPC500 also includes electromagnetic interference filtering on the AC line, which disables the rear connections to prevent connected devices from operating at unwanted voltage levels.
The MPC1500 has four high-quality Suko plugs (Cee 7/3, Type F1). The plugs can be configured according to your preferences using the power switches on the rear panel. The front panel display can list the supply voltage, the amount of current passing through the plugs or the total power. All versions of the MPC500 feature McIntosh's timeless black glass front panel, illuminated logo, control knobs and aluminum end caps:
