McIntosh MX123 A/V Processor
The MX123 A/V processor embraces McIntosh's long tradition of sound quality and combines them with the latest home theater technologies to give you a superior home theater experience. It is compatible with all leading surround and object-based 3D audio formats, including Dolby Atmos (including Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer), DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D and Sony 360 Reality Audio (an immersive audio experience using Sony spatial technology). The MX123 is also fully compatible with modern 4K Ultra HD video sources and can upscale lower resolution videos up to 4K Ultra HD for the best possible picture quality.
Compared to the 11.2 channels of the previous model, the MX123 has updated digital features, making it 13.2 channels. These 13.2 separate channels are available via both balanced and unbalanced audio outputs, so the amplifier can be used in a wide variety of home theater setups. In addition, 2 unbalanced outputs offer more flexibility in connection. DSD and ALAC playback support has been doubled to DSD128 and ALAC 192kHz for improved high-resolution audio playback.
For your home theater video needs, the MX123 has 7 HDMI inputs and 3 HDMI outputs, each HDCP 2.2/2.3 compliant. They all have 18Gbps bandwidth, supporting High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG.Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) function is included in one of the HDMI outputs and provides more bandwidth so the MX123 can receive higher resolution audio from the TV to produce the best possible sound quality.
Additional connections include 4 digital audio inputs, 1 balanced and 8 unbalanced analog stereo audio inputs (including 1 MM phono input for connecting a turntable), an unbalanced 7.1 multichannel audio input, 3 component and 4 composite video inputs, 1 USB Type A, 2 unbalanced analog stereo outputs, and 2 composite and 1 component video output. So there will be no shortage of connections.
The MX123 has received Connects with Control4 certification from Control4, a leading provider of smart home automation solutions, by implementing SDDP (Simple Device Discovery Protocol). It allows your device to be easily integrated with Control4 automation systems to improve the user experience. An exciting new feature on the MX123 is IMAX Enhanced. To make streaming from your mobile devices easier, the device now also has Apple AirPlay2, Bluetooth and Spotify Connect support. To facilitate streaming performance and reliability, the wireless connection has been improved by including 2.4 / 5 GHz support.
The included Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibrates your home theater according to its acoustic characteristics, allowing it to produce the clearest and most balanced sound. Each individual audio channel has its own 32-bit premium D/A converter to produce the best possible sound quality. Bass and treble controls and a 9-band equalizer offer the possibility of fine adjustments.
