The XR100 is a narrow-profile floor speaker that captures the listener's attention thanks to its live-like dynamics, large soundscape and refined treble reproduction. A large number of elements make the playback exceptionally relaxed and powerful. The reproduction of the middle range is naturally pleasant and has its own sensitivity familiar from panel speakers. The impressive looking gloss lacquered speaker is available in either black or red walnut veneer. The magnetically attached protective fabric is acoustically transparent and covered with a neutral black fabric. As a unique detail, the McIntosh logo on the front panel is illuminated with a durable LED light when the speaker is connected to other McIntosh components.
Patented Solid Cinch™ speaker terminals secure cable connections easily but securely to prevent them from loosening and potentially shorting. The connectors are gold-plated to prevent corrosion and transmit a high-quality signal.
The XR100's reserve will probably make the listener give up before the speaker's sound pressure limits. As far as the amplifier is concerned, the XR100 is recommended for a sector serving 75-600 watts of pure power, which means that you can easily consider the heaviest end of McIntosh's amplifier collection. With a separate power connection, the McIntosh logo on the front panel of the speaker can be controlled to light up when the speaker is used with a McIntosh amplifier. The XR100 is an exceptionally high-quality speaker for both music and home theater systems.
