The upgrade cable for Meze Audio Empyrean and Elite headphones is made of premium Furukawa High-Purity Oxygen-free copper wire, which is plated with pure silver. Furukawa SILVER PLATED PCUHD copper cable offers more accurate and detailed sound quality. This can be noticed in particular in the tightening of transient reproduction and more controlled bass. The sound is organic and lively in size and scope. The manufacturing process combines a casting technique that does not contain heat-sensitive materials, and a post-processing that is free from hot pressing or rolling, the product can be mass-produced in a way that prevents debris or other impurities from entering the conductor. Although the product is a 4N-grade material (99.99% copper purity), it has good formability and drawability, which allows the processing of very fine wires. Oxygen is one of the most common impurities in copper products. For this reason, gas burners are not used in the manufacturing process and the internal parts of the devices are filled with noble gases. These methods can control oxygen to 5 ppm, which is below the standard required for oxygen-free copper.
