The Q Acoustics 3050c is the ideal floorstanding speaker in many ways. It's large enough to reproduce the presence and power of music, and to reveal even the smallest details and subtleties - but it's elegant and well-proportioned enough not to draw too much attention to itself.
The new 3000c loudspeaker series features the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™ mid/bass driver design, first introduced in the award-winning 5000 Series and M40 micro-tower loudspeakers. Q Acoustics’ latest engineering platform elevates the 3000c to the next level, delivering a sound defined by a clear and fast midrange, controlled yet powerful bass dynamics and nuanced and detailed high frequencies.
Noteworthy
P2P™ (Point to Point) support - cabinet resonances are minimized with intelligent internal support.
HPETM (Helmholtz Pressure EqualiserTM) tubes eliminate standing wave formation, smooth the frequency response and reduce distortion.
Hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated tweeter - treble reproduction remains pure, separated from the vibrations and pressure of the woofer.
The revolutionary C3 cone is at the heart of the 3000c midrange/woofer design. The cone geometry requires exceptional motor power to achieve optimal performance, so the voice coil is driven by remarkably robust magnets. The control provided by the large magnets ensures excellent dynamic response, capacity and tight bass. The magnetic field is evenly distributed across the cone to reduce harmonic distortion.
Following the tweeter design principle used in the latest Concept series, the driver is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the front panel to prevent internal pressure fluctuations within the enclosure from the adjacent midrange/woofer driver. The inner chamber is also carefully vented for reduced distortion, and its lower crossover frequency allows for seamless integration into the crossover environment.
The 3050c, like all floorstanding speakers, is prone to internal pressure build-up, which causes unwanted standing waves. To prevent this, specially designed HPE™ (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser™) tubes are installed inside the cabinet to cancel out the internal pressure and improve frequency response.
Q Acoustics' P2P™ (Point to Point™) bracing, used throughout the 3000c series, supports key areas of the enclosure, making the new enclosures exceptionally rigid, improving stereo image definition and giving the soundstage more airiness than ever before.
