RME ADI-2 DAC FS DA converter
With audio enthusiasts in mind, RME has made a different version of its ADI-2 PRO converter intended for professional studios, where some of the studio features have been replaced with functions better suited for home use. It manages the digital-to-analog conversion with the same reference-level quality as its big brother, but is easier to use and equipped with a headphone output, an in-ear monitor output and a very high-quality and usable remote control.
Encased in a compact half-rack size, the RME ADI-2 DAC receives digital audio both via a USB connection and via a coaxial S/PDIF bus as well as an optical ADAT-compatible S/PDIF bus. On the output side, you can find 2 x RCA, 2 x XLR and both 6.3mm and 3.5mm stereo jacks. So there are both balanced and unbalanced outputs, in addition, the device itself offers a 6.3mm Extreme Power headphone output, a very low-noise 3.5mm IEM ear monitor output, a jitter-fighting SteadyClock FS clock, a four-level output level adjustment already in place, a digital signal processor (Bass, Treble, Loudness , 5-band parametric EQ, Crossfeed...), connection for external power supply, Class Compliant USB compatibility and sampling frequency up to 768 kHz!
DSD and Direct DSD streaming is of course also available, and the signal can be received from S/PDIF and forwarded via USB, after all, it is a genuine, two-channel Full Duplex converter, as you would expect from RME.
