What is a GAN?
The use of gallium nitride (GaN) in amplifiers is a relatively new, but very significant development in the field of electronics and amplifiers.
Gallium nitride was discovered in the 1960s, but research and development of the material as a semiconductor gained momentum only in the following decades.
In the 1990s and 2000s, GaN technology was further developed and improved. Researchers and engineers have focused on improving the quality of the material and developing techniques to grow GaN crystals on suitable substrates.
